New Court in East London

We’ve built our first court in East London – part of our 5 year East London project. The court, which is slightly smaller than regulation size, is the first of many in the Olympic Park area. The court is free to access by anyone, any time. Just turn up and get going (you might want to bring some extra balls though as a stray shot may see your ball end up in the canal behind the court!).

The court is located on Warton Road – a stone’s throw from the Olympic Park’s Aquatic Centre. Nearest train station is Stratford.

We’ll be having a grand opening of the court once the weather gets better and we’ll be using it to run community projects in the local area – in addition to it being used by the locals whenever they want. In summer we’re also hoping to have our first outdoor festival fun tournament. Watch this space.

Many thanks for Emmett Fitzpatrick for building the court and for University College London and the London Legacy Development Commission for funding it. The court is made out of a recycled material called EcoSheet.
