We were delighted to train up 22 new coaches in East London this weekend. Coaches, teachers, sports development officers and volunteers took part in our Introduction to Coaching Qualification day, generously supported by London Legacy (LLDC).
The participants learnt the basics of wallball and then split into groups; some doing some classroom sessions to learn about how to run a session and how to work to empower players with the values of wallball. Others took part in practical sessions to have a go themselves and learn the tactics of the day. Over lunch Coach Shareen led a session on adapting the game to stroke rehabilitation. The day ended with a fun internal tournament so that everyone could get first hand experience playing and refereeing.
We are looking forward to launching schools and clubs off the back of this session and are delighted to welcome even more people into our wallball family.
Huge thanks to coaches Luke, Gareth, Kathleen and Tessa for running a brilliant day.
