Loving Wallball at London StreetGames Festival

We had a really brilliant day today at the London StreetGames Festival at the Copper Box. About 3000 kids came to the amazing venue to try their hand a whole array of activities; from pickle-ball to judo, zorbing to parcour, wheelchair basketball to football pool and of course, wallball.

We were delighted to see so many smiles on faces, people having a great time and new relationships forming with groups from around the country. We’re very happy for anyone to get in touch with us if they’d like to run some activator courses or introduce wallball back home. Just email us.

“What a day!” said Kathleen Briedenhann, Head of Women’s Development and Team GBR Captain, “The energy was fantastic and the kids really loved it. The festival is just amazing and everyone is all on the same wavelength – fun activity for everyone!”

We lived up to our motto today – “any ball, any wall, any time”, when Darren & Gareth set up two table tennis tables in the arena and started a game with a spike-ball. Great fun all round! Outdoors we had 3 mini courts against the glass windows and marked out the courts with chalk. This really underlines the  versatility of wallball and we’re really pleased with how it went down.

Thank you to StreetGames for letting us be part of this awesome event – it really is a fantastic charity which is changing lives through sport and activity. We’re looking forward to the next big event and we’re really looking forward to this Saturday when we launch our court just around the corner from the Olympic Park.
