Over the Easter break, UK Wallball Head Coach Gareth Price was invited to a week long ‘Sports Camp’ at the Royal Masonic School for Girls, to introduce wallball to a new group of youngsters. The camp was a great success, and everyone who took part was enthused and excited by our great sport.
The programme was so well received in fact that Gareth has now set up an after school wallball club at the Royal Masonic School, which takes place every Friday. The girls have taken to the sport really well, and participation is increasing week by week as word spreads throughout the school.
“It’s fantastic that RMS have embraced wallball as openly as they have”, says Gareth. “The school’s facilities are excellent, and working here is a great opportunity to get more girls playing the game. The RMS girls are a pleasure to coach, not just in terms of developing their skills, but also in their attitude to fair play and inclusivity. There’s always a fun atmosphere on court, and smiles all round. Credit must go to the P.E staff at the school, who have been very welcoming, interested and engaged with everything wallball has to offer their students”.
We wish everyone involved at RMS continued success, and we’ll be sure to keep readers up to date with their progress.
