Over 50 students aged 16-19 took part in a series of 1-wall wallball taster sessions at Brooklands College, Weybridge, and there was some serious talent on show.
After an introductory period involving basic right and left handed shot drills, and the serve, students were thrown in at the deep end with a series of timed doubles matches – some of which featured some fabulous killshots and diving retrievals from both boys and girls.
There is now a real interest from Brooklands to build permanent courts, while also using the facility as a hub for surrounding colleges, and perhaps even contributing athletes to England’s home team when London hosts the 2013 European Junior Championships.
